The Winners of the Provincial Concours d'art oratoire -

High school students gathered in Pointe-Claire last weekend to talk about Hummers, gay marriage, the polytechnique massacre, and their grandfather - all in French. The Concours d'art oratoire is a French speaking competition held across Canada every spring by Canadian Parents for French. Judges chose five winners from the many excellent presentations to advance to the National Concours and a chance to win a $20,000 scholarship to the University of Ottawa. The five winners are:

Category - Name (School)
Base - Megan Freimann (Sainte Agathe Academy)
Enrichi - Shannon Gallagher (Lindsey Place High School)
Enrichi plus - Raquel Albert (Philemon Wright High School)
Immersion - Anisha Mehreja (Philemon Wright High School)
Langue maternelle - Nastasya Hénault (Philemon Wright High School)

Congratulations to all the participants for their fine speeches! They should all be very proud of themselves.

The National Concours d'art oratoire will be held May 28 in Ottawa.
